Mr Butterworth has been researching the survival, timing and innovative use of zygomatic implants since 2006. He has recently reported on the biggest published series of maxillary and mid-face malignancies treated with zygomatic implants in the world-wide literature.
Theme 2: Radiotherapy damage to the teeth and jaws
The Head & Neck team in Liverpool have been researching a number of projects including dental care for patients following radiotherapy and the risk of osteoradionecrosis following extractions in the irradiated mandible.
